Self love is a type of love that should be a top priority but unfortunately something almost all of us at some point in our lives forget about and at most times is not even in our list of priorities with the busy schedules we have on a daily basis.

We all know what love is, although some cant exactly define the feeling of love or express it in words, we all know what love feels like to our body and to our soul.
self love is a journey that will reveal to you the hidden truths of one self , self love will bring to light all the areas of your life that you kept pushing away to the depths so that you will not have to deal with them, this may sound scary and you may want to ask me why I am talking about self love when there is so much pain involved, but as you read this article you will understand the beauty of what this process will bring to your life, and you will thank your self for reading this.

self love is about becoming your own best friend, putting in an effort to understand who you truly are as a person. we usually think we know exactly who we are, I mean, come on right... who knows us more than we know our selves, but then reality dawns upon you and you get so confused as to who you are as a person... what you truly want in life... and so many more questions come to surface.
Self love is to be kind to yourself, and to learn how to forgive yourself and to learn how to treat yourself with respect.
How can I practice self love ?
There are many ways in which one can practice self love, in which we will go into detail today, but the secret is to be able to find the practice that will truly be beneficial for you, because a practice such as for example Journaling that may work wonders for one person may not be as effective for you, and that is ok, as there will be other practice that will be good for you and truly help your in your life and your journey of self love.

before you start anything else you have to first understand that you are on your own unique soul journey, no one else in this incarnation is living your life, just like you are not living the life of anyone else. we always fall into the trap that society has implemented by telling ourselves that we should be doing the things that society accepts as good and what society thinks will make you happy at the point you are at in your life.
well I'm sorry to be the one to break this for you but you are wrong, WHY ? because you are where you are right now because this is exactly where you are meant to be right now in life. you will realize this when you start spending more and more time by yourself, you will also be able to understand why certain things happen or maybe don't happen in your life.
you have to be able to accept your flaws without letting ego get the better of you in a negative manner, accept them so that you can work on them, accept them because right now they are a part of the person you are, it maybe that you overthink a lot and this is something that can lead to a lot of unwanted worries and problems in your life therefore find ways to work on it , step by step. know that there are certain thing in your life that you have no control of whether you like it or not, certain flaws may have caused you to do things that you feel so guilty about now and is weighing on even your adult life, but remember you are human, just like everyone else, you need to learn to forgive yourself you need to remind yourself that its okay to make mistakes and its okay to make the wrong turn on your journey, but also remember that along with forgiving yourself you need to be able to understand the lesson that's meant to be learnt from it.
As you may have already guessed, a part of self love is self care, the willingness and ability to take care of yourself just as you would someone you love. which includes practices such as meditation, mindfulness and even yoga, but self care can also mean a simple act such as going for even a short evening stroll by yourself.
Most times we forget the many things we have to be grateful for not just in life, but in ourselves as well, the fact that we have eyes to even see this article, the mental capacity to even understand what you are reading right now are all things to be grateful for as not everyone in this world is blessed with such abilities. Take the time to look at yourself in the mirror and point out at least 3 things you can be grateful for about yourself.
when it comes to self love a crucial part of the process is to be able to identify any toxic people or situations, but the most challenging part will be to accept that certain people and situations should be removed from our lives no matter how much it may hurt to.
Why is self love important & Beneficial?
We have many relationships be it family, romantic or business partners that come and go in our lives but there is one person that will always be there for the rest of our lives and that person is you.
self love is a crucial part of your life , a practice that will bring many benefits into your daily life, self love can reduce anxiety , help you set boundaries, helps you gain more confidence in yourself and overall encourages you to live a more healthy lifestyle as it benefits your mental and physical health as well.
the more you love and care for your self the more you will be able to love and care for the people around you. always remember that it is when your cup is full that you can help fill the cup of someone else.
